Volunteering at the Hillcrest Park Zoo is a wonderful way for anyone to get involved in the Clovis, New Mexico community. Volunteers are accepted over the age of 18 years or within an adult-supervised group such as the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. Our volunteer program is coordinated by the Assistant Zoo Director and provides a truly unique opportunity for those looking to give back and learn more about animals and animal care.
C. A. R. E. S. (Clovis Animal Rehabilitators and Educational Service)
C.A.R.E.S. is a non-profit support group formed by Hillcrest Park Zoo employees. This organization works to raise funds for supplementary items such as exhibit improvements and enrichment items for the animals. This program raises funds using our penny smasher machine, Radio Flyer rentals and the Adopt-a- Zoo-Animal Program. The Adopt-a-Zoo-Animal program allows visitors to donate money in support of a specific animal. The adoption period runs for a full year and includes an 8x10 inch framed picture of your chosen animal. If you adopt an animal whose fees are greater than $200, your name or business name is displayed on a plaque near the exhibit. Visit our front desk or call us at 575-769-7873 for more information.
